I visited the British Museum recently (May 2006) and was very disappointed that a lot of displays I was interested in were empty or missing. (I was researching the Emperor Hadrian for a websites) project. This can happen if you visit for a specific reason or to do research on unique items, but if you are just browsing, the British Museum collection is so huge, there is always lots to see.

MUST SEES AT THE BRITISH MUSEUM? The Parthenon Sculptures... removed (some say stolen) from Athens in Greece by Lord Elgin in the early 1800s, the marbles are a stunning example of early greek art. Controversial and inspiring, the marbles are displayed in their own exhibition hall at the British Museum.
